Amreeta's Counselling Approach
My passion is being a guide in a person's journey of growth and self-discovery. That journey may involve learning to listen and value what is true to you, developing self-acceptance to be who you are today and growing compassion for yourself and for others.
I provide a holistic and integrative approach to therapy. My method is to access different tools in my tool box so that a safe and healing environment can be provided to nourish and honor various parts of the self.
In this place of safety and healing, you will begin to understand yourself by uncovering triggers and ineffective patterns of beliefs, thoughts, feelings and relationship dynamics; developing clarity, awareness and compassionate understanding; as well as creating new, healthy patterns that will connect you to your true self, and feel more present and authentic with others.
My tools include various theories (such as attachment, humanistic and experiential theories) and evidence-based approaches, including strengths-based, cognitive-behavioural therapy, solutions-focused, mindfulness, among others.
By working together to find the right approach for you, we will utilize these tools, access your own unique strengths and resources, and reach your counselling goals. In this way, you will start to develop inner peace and acceptance of all different aspects of you, feel grounded within, and feel more connected to yourself and others.
